Great atmosphere! I still don't know what theynwere saying when people walked in and when they left but it seemed upbeat and fun and I really enjoyed myself. The sushi is really yummy and you can tell they take pride in their work! I only had a few hours layover in Japan and I chose to try sushi here, I think it was a great decision!
Extremely friendly and fun experience, the sushi is amazing and they also offer a couple of veg options
Probably some of the best sushi I've ever had. Staff were friendly and kind, menu selection is great, and I think the price was reasonable for what they delivered. Came here for breakfast two days in a row!
The best sushi I've had in japan.Got the tuna set and it was incredible.Highly recommend this place.Worth coming before 12 in order to avoid a long queue
There was a 40 min wait when we went in the middle of a weekday. There are several floors to it, so the line moves fast. The price of the sushi was average, running at around 2500-4500 yen for a set. You can also buy individual pieces. The sushi itself was amazing. Would definitely recommend.
We went here at 6:30am on a weekday and did not have to wait (although the restaurant was quite busy for the time of day). Chefs were very kind and recommended the seasonal set. Sushi was delicious and fresh, we would definitely come again!
This is the best location out of the chain the staff are really friendly and nice and the sushi is really good I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area 10 out of 10 would go again the sushi is always fresh and the staff are pretty quick as well it is a mid level sushi restaurant but it is worth checking out for sure it's one of my favorite.
The Abura Tuna & slight fatty tuna...Go here if you don't go to church- you'll believe in God(Disclaimer: Above comment is a joke to illustrate the awesome taste. A must go!)
Nice sushi since I'm not Japanese my requirements may not be set as high as a native Japanese
Awesome late night spot with fresh tasty sushi. Decided to give this place a go after oversleeping and waking up late at night. Took a quick uber ride and was glad to see this place open. Highly recommend for great food
Not sure how you could ever rate this less than four or five stars. The sushi and sashimi is as fresh as can possibly be. The staff was great and a few spoke English well. They have a menu in English. I wouldn't change anything about it. If the line looks long I still recommend waiting as it moves quickly. The Tuna Sashimi and sushi were our favorite parts of the meal.
Easily the very best sushi I have ever had. I was in town for 4 days and I ate here 5 times... I'm on my way to the airport and I may stop by one more time...
Although this is a foreigner's perspective, I think Sushizanmai has the best sushi quality for it's price range. Definitely try the medium fatty and fatty tuna here - probably the best sushi I've ever had.
Great sushi place! There are a lot of Sushizanmai restaurants around so make sure you go to the right one!!! This one does not have a conveyer belt. The tuna had great flavor and tasted very fresh. Reasonably priced for the quality you are getting. They have cheaper options for sushi as well. You can order a single roll for as cheap as ¥98 (the egg roll I got was one of these ones). The Natto roll and cucumber rolls were ¥250 for 6 pieces. The tuna with Japanese onion roll was ¥450. It can get more expensive tho as some single rolls go up to ¥550. You can get set dishes which range from ~¥2500 - ¥3500 (maybe higher). The chefs make the food right in front of you and even ask about your preference on wasabi (if you like it or not). Also drinks seemed reasonably priced. The menu has English translations. You can pay with card here and there are restrooms.
A MUST-VISIT for any Traveller. Some of the best sushi I have ever had. If not, the best. I got the tuna sushi plate with fatty, medium fatty, regular, broiled, and minced tuna, and it was ¥1280. Very good deal in my opinion, and absolutely amazing quality. I would recommend this dish to anyone. We were 2, and we got some more sushi, and rolls, which were all very good as well. I can't recommend trying their tuna, including the minced tuna and onion roll (Which was only ¥450!). The total was ¥4700 for 2, which included a large bottled beer for ¥680. All in all, a great deal that we didn't expect to find in Tokyo. We waited in line outside on a Tuesday at 6pm for 10-15 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it. FYI, there are many other similar restaurants that share the name and face, but aren't the exact same as this place. We walked into the one 100m away that was a conveyer belt sushi place by accident. Glad we walked out and found the correct place.
Awesome food and good services.Need to queue quite long to get into the shop, est 30 min to 1 hour. But the food is worth the wait.
We arrived at 15.50 and it was full. We had to wait like 5-10 min till we got seats at bar. No kid seat was available. The Chef doesn't speak fluent English but ordering food was fine. The fish was very fresh and tasted really really great. The price is fair for the quality. I can't eat Sashimi or Sushi anywhere else after this. Highly recommend.
The best tuna i have eaten. I guess having 4.3 stars after 4.5k reviews truly say it. Their blue fin tuna melt in ur mouth thing is not a myth. Restaurant itself is comfortable. Service is only normal. But good enough. The quality of tuna itself out beat the rest.
Amazing sushi, very friendly staff and you can watch and talk to chefs at the counter! Prices are slightly higher , but worth it!
24 hour hours sushi place which you can expect delicious sushi. English menu is available.
Went late-morning on a Saturday. The line was well organized and the wait was only around 20-30 minutes. The sushi was amazing. I had the deluxe plate and every piece on it was great. I did not have a big appreciation for Tuna before eating here. They changed my mind. The prices are also very very good.
A little bit of a wait at 10:30am, but we were seated in about 10 minutes. There are both counters and tables, so you need to be clear which you want. The menu items all have photos and descriptions in English, making ordering very easy. It's a busy and rowdy sushi counter, which we find fun. For those who want more quiet, ask for a table.
The best sushi that i ever had! Fresh! Wide variety of sushi, great and friendly service! And worth the price!!!
My first Japanese experience with sushi. Did not disappoint. 👌🏻
Every of my Tokyo or Osaka trips, I have to stop by Sushi Zanmai. Sushi are fresh and simple classy Japanese authentic; moreover, it's inexpensive. It will get crowded or have a long wait line during lunch hour so I highly recommend to come in the morning or after rush lunch hour.
The food was truly impressive! Generous portion, super fresh and quick service, attentive & warm staff. We love the experience a lot. It opens till quite late so also a great place to reward a full-day hard work ;)
Best sushi on our two week trip to Japan. Super fresh Uni with not a hint of fishiness. Super baby friendly with a social atmosphere. Proficient English speakers and picture menu. Total bill for extravagant (read: two types of fatty tuna, special sea eel, ebi, conch, clam, tobiko, etc) and three beers over 1.5 hours was 122,000 yen for two adults.
Reasonably good sushi place in Tsukiji within the casual to mid tier space with a bustling and lively atmosphere. Many locals and foreign visitors. One will need to calibrate expectations in relation to the price when comparing against high end sushi-yas as there is a difference, but it is true that prices are somewhat elevated in Tsukiji and you could get the same for less in quieter parts of the city. Service is polite and friendly. Lines can get long but they do clear fairly quickly due to the large seating capacity over 3 floors.
One of my best sushi places in Tokyo, large restaurant filled with assortment of sushi’s that are really fresh( it’s next to the fish market). Prices are quite reasonable. Try to get a seat on the bar so that you can refill quickly. I went to it 4 times during my 12 days stay. Enjoy.
At first, I wasn’t sure to spend time at sushi chain like sushi zanmai; but the convenience of 24 hrs is great so I went for it. The Chef and the sushi quality completely win my heart! Must visit!
Quality fresh sushi and seems very popular in Tokyo. Two of us arrived 5pm and waited almost 30min to get a table! The big boss is here and everyone is excited to take photo with him.
Delicious sushi, good service and calm ambiance. Lots of room so it's good for younger kids.
We got one of their set sushi menus and sat at the bar. Everything on the plate was good. Favorite was their uni, tuna & this sushi with chives like appearance. It was surprisingly very good! Every piece was delicious! Price not bad at all. Service great. Plenty of space with bathrooms!
No frills sushi industrial complex. Over 2 floors of diners eating the house speciality (tuna- a variety plate for ¥3,100 seemed the way to go). Don’t expect much by the way of ambiance (lights were bright, you order on a card and have to vacate your table within 2 hours). But the sushi was TASTY and open 24 hours so the queue is never very substantial.
Great fresh sushi place that's open 24/7. Amazing. The wait can be long so try and time your visit. Credit cards accepted.
Enjoyable little Japanese cafe - very bespoke and unique in its setting Lovely and kind staff Great food and drinks Decent price Small and cramped place Cosy
Despite being in a hustling market, the place was very organized and comfortable. It's much more spacious than typical Japanese restaurants. All orders can be done through a tablet they have at the table. It was easy for us to order. The sushi was really fresh. It's properly among the best I have had. The chawanmushi was also very good. It had great texture and flavour. Taking off 1 star because, surprisingly, while everything in the restaurant was clean, the receipt tray itself was very sticky and greasy. So a tip for y'all that after finishing your meal and ready to pay, hold the tray by its edges when you bring it to the counter. Otherwise your effort for cleaning your hands would be wasted.
Excellent sushi made to Order by personal chefs.
Best sushi I've ever had with some real energetic and entertaining staff. Definitely a place worth visiting even if you only have a passing interest in sushi. Prices aren't too bad either
One of our favourite sushi joints. Casual place and it usually doesn’t disappoint. We love their fatty tuna and unagi! And grilled cod fish!
Great sushi, helpful staff, fun chefs. The freshest sushi you'll ever eat
You expect quality and freshness when dining at Tsukiji market area, and this place doesn’t disappoint. Good service and a wide variety of sushi. My only qualm was that the rice was a bit hard for my liking. But that’s a personal preference. Also, it can get pricey, so be warned. Still, it’s worth a visit as the staffs speak decent English and service there is good.
Sushizanmai always keeps little better than average and their fish itself is always good, but your actual experience would vary. They have many restaurants in such a tiny area and open all the restaurants 24 hours. It seems that makes sushi chef skill levels uneven.I come here to check the level of the fish of the day and leave after a few bites to see what I can expect on other sushi places.
Fantastic sushi, great service and friendly staff. Very cheap for the quality and quantity that you get. Probably one of the most worthwhile restaurant visits that I've ever enjoyed. Don't miss this! (In fact, go here multiple times)P.S. sitting at the counter makes a big difference in the experience
It's a brand in Japan. And this particular spot is one of those good. Well it's still good but it was better when tsukiji market was there. Now everything seems to be 2 much 4 tourist.
This was such an incredible experience. I asked a local man sitting next to me to help recommend some sake and sushi and I wasn’t disappointed. The chef was kind, the waitress, Apolline, who is a french student on exchange who spoke English, French, and Japanese, was so helpful and kind. That’s not even about the sushi - so fresh. So delicious. I wish I could eat there for every meal while I’m in town. Absolutely make a stop. Great quality and not too expensive.
Tuna was some of the best I’ve ever had! 5 starsLong lines full of Japanese and foreigners alike. Once you get inside you play musical chairs and more queues.Miso soup here was more clear broth and case with the set.Pay $35 for a set of 12 pieces... my uni was fair and didn’t come out of a fresh sea urchin mollusk. So freshness was still not the best.-1 Star24 hour joint
Nice sushi. Relatively cheap compared to other shops with no seating spots.
Very crowded even at 10am. Big portion. Seafood was fresh. Too much rice for my liking though. Staff can speak English which is helpful!
Always open and always delicious. Great service and the food is all reasonably priced. I always want to sit at the sushi bar because everything is prepared right in front of you.
